(Required components to run) To ensure your motor is water-ready upon delivery, you will need to source the following components separately, as they are not included in the standard factory crate: The Propeller: Mercury packages this specific mid-range engine tier without a propeller so boaters can choose the pitch that matches their specific boat weight. (We highly recommend adding a Mercury Black Max 3-Blade Aluminum Propeller to your cart). 4-Stroke Marine Engine Oil: The engine is shipped dry from the factory. You must add certified 10W-30 FourStroke Marine Engine Oil to the crankcase before the first startup. 12V Marine Starting Battery: A 12-volt marine battery (minimum 465 Marine Cranking Amps / MCA) is required to power the turn-key electric start and power trim/tilt motor.
